Deputy minister: Rumah SelangorKu a remarkable success, over 44,000 units handed over to homeowners

SHAH ALAM, July 12 — The state government has successfully constructed and delivered affordable homes to aspiring homeowners, says Local Government Development Deputy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir.

He said the affordable housing scheme Rumah SelangorKu remained the most successful among similar housing schemes and credited Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari for its accomplishments.

“From 2018 to 2023, the Rumah SelangorKu scheme has become the state government’s most popular product. Over five years, 44,115 units have been handed to homeowners.

“This is a commendable achievement, as housing projects require strong finances, proper planning, and commitment. As a new minister in the government, having witnessed the accomplishments of the Selangor government, I applaud their efforts.

“I appeal to the voters in Bukit Melawati to continue supporting the Unity Government,” Akmal Nasrullah said in his speech during the Jelajah Madani ceramah in Bukit Melawati, Kuala Selangor, earlier tonight.

He also highlighted the Unity Government’s success in rescuing nine ailing projects under the 1Malaysia Housing Programme (PR1MA) since they assumed power seven months ago.

The Federal government aims to address 13 delayed, ailing and abandoned PR1MA projects by the end of 2024.

“In just seven months, we have saved nine PR1MA projects. This demonstrates the Unity Government’s commitment to resolving these issues and ensuring the availability of affordable housing in Malaysia,” Akmal Nasrullah said.

He emphasised the nation’s multicultural nature, comprising diverse races and religions, and urged voters to support leaders who prioritise the rights and needs of the people, despite the nativist narratives propagated by political opponents.
