SHAH ALAM, July 9 — Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil is making a one-day working visit to Selangor today to meet with local communities.
He will kick off his visit by holding an engagement session with field officers of the Selangor Information Department in Banting.
After that, Fahmi is scheduled to attend a programme with the Kanchong Darat Digital Economy Centre (PEDi) community at Dewan Orang Ramai Simpang Bengkok in Kanchong Darat, Banting.
At the event, he will hand over Internet Unity Package SIM cards to targeted groups and visit an exhibition by PEDi entrepreneurs.
PEDi is an initiative by the ministry to empower local communities with digital skills and generate income for them through e-Commerce platforms, thus helping to improve their standard of living and social mobility.
Fahmi will wind up his visit by attending the Selangor-level Kita Madani programme, at Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Bukit Changgang in Banting at 2.30pm.
At the ceremony, he will also hand over contributions to the asnaf group.
