Selangor Sultan Cup ticket sale opens at end of August

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 — Football fans can buy tickets for the 19th edition of the Sultan of Selangor Cup (TSSC), which is being organised again after a three-year postponement, at the end of August.

TSSC chairman and team manager Tan Sri Abd Karim Munisar said tickets will go on sale for as low as RM10 for spectators to witness the prestigious cup at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Oct 28, which will also feature the famous Datuk Jamal Abdillah in a stage show.

“We are selling tickets cheap while fans stand a chance to win a car, motorcycle and accommodation prizes in a lucky draw. We are aiming for 70,000 spectators to fill the stadium,” he told Bernama after the 19th TSSC committee meeting at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, earlier today.

This will ensure the stadium which is being renovated with the replacement of cow grass with the zeon zoysia species is ready for the prestigious showdown between Selangor and Singapore.

TSSC is a tournament conceived by Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj as a continuation of the traditional football rivalry since 2001 to re-live the nostalgia of the previous Malaysia Cup finals between Selangor and Singapore.

For the record, the last time the TSSC was held was in 2019, Selangor won the Sultan of Selangor Cup after defeating Singapore 1 – 0.
