Taman Medan’s Harapan machinery launched amid support in downpour

PETALING JAYA, July 6 — Pakatan Harapan Selangor chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari launched the Taman Medan state constituency’s state election machinery and the operations room yesterday night.

In spite of the rainfall before the event commenced at 9pm, hundreds flocked to the field at Desa Mentari 3 along Jalan PJS 2D/1, for the Jelajah Madani programme.

Among those in attendance were Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s (PKR) deputy president Rafizi Ramli, PKR Youth wing chief Adam Adli Abd Halim, and PKR’s Petaling Jaya division chief Hee Loy Sian.

Others included Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung Taman Medan incumbent state assemblyman Syamsul Firdaus Mohamed Supri, and Seri Setia incumbent state assemblyman Halimey Abu Bakar.

The Jelajah Madani roadshow kicked off in the Sikamat state constituency of Negeri Sembilan on Tuesday (July 4), and will continue in Kedah on July 8, involving the state constituencies of Suka Menanti, Gurun, Bukit Selambau, Sidam, and Kulim.

Yesterday, the Election Commission set August 12 as the polling day for the state elections in Selangor, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Peanng, and Negeri Sembilan.

The nomination day for all six states has been set for July 29, while early voting will take place on August 8, with a two-week campaign period prior to the polling day.
