Good mood in northern Selangor as machinery continues campaigning — MB

By Sofia Nasir

SEKINCHAN, Aug 9 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said he sees an improvement in the sentiment of voters’ acceptance towards Pakatan Harapan in the state’s northern districts during the ongoing Selangor State Election campaign.

This can be attributed to the continuous efforts of the coalition’s machinery, as well as the convincing backgrounds of its new candidates and defending incumbent candidates.

“There is a positive mood in the air. We have never forgotten the northern areas of Selangor and will continue to work because every vote counts.

“I hope everyone can come out to cast their ballots to ensure we choose continuity and progress,” he said during the Ceramah Umum Harapan programme at Sekinchan yesterday night.

Amirudin is optimistic that Harapan, alongside its coalition partners in the Unity Government, will form the state administration with a two-thirds majority.

Simultaneously, he does not underestimate the actions of certain quarters attempting to field daily political attacks involving various issues during the campaigning period.

“I am still confident in a two-thirds victory or 38 to 40 seats, but I do not want to underestimate our opponents. Various issues have been up and down daily, but I believe 60 to 70 per cent of the people have already made their decision,” Amirudin said.

The Election Commission has set the polling date for Selangor and five other states to this Saturday (August 12). Campaigning ends at 11.59pm on Friday, August 11.
