SHAH ALAM, Aug 26 — Up to 300 Jalur Gemilang flags will be distributed to residents and students in and around the Kota Anggerik state constituency, to mark the 66th Independence Day on Thursday (August 31).
Its state assemblyman Najwan Halimi said the distribution of the flags will be carried out for free, and will also be extended to traders and vendors at the Section 6 Modern Market and the Section 2 Food Court.
“The purpose of this initiative is to ignite the spirit of patriotism among the people.
“Efforts to fly the Jalur Gemilang at residences, business premises, and vehicles show the unity of the multi-ethnic people who love Malaysia,” said Najwan, who is also a state executive councillor, to SelangorKini yesterday.
He added they will also distribute over 100 flags to local residents at the Petronas gas station in Bukit Jelutong today, to further enhance the National Day celebrations.
