Reject divisive politics, maintain unity in Hulu Kelang

By Azian Aziz

HULU KELANG, Aug 4 — The multi-racial community in the Hulu Kelang state constituency has been urged to reject racist and divisive political campaign agendas.

Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for the Hulu Kelang state assembly Juwairiya Zulkifli said the practice is unacceptable, as it could threaten the peace and prosperity of the state.

“Let’s not allow the seeds of division and leaders who try to divide us enter Hulu Kelang and Selangor, to scare our friends and family from various backgrounds.

“We live in a mixed community of various races, in peace and harmony here in Hulu Kelang as well as Taman Melawati, and we will remain united,” she said.

Juwairiya was speaking at an event  in Taman Melawati yesterday night, which was also attended by Kuala Selangor MP Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, and state executive councillor of tourism, the environment, and Orang Asli affairs Hee Loy Sian.

Meanwhile, at another ceramah, she expressed determination in giving her best to the people of Hulu Kelang, if given the mandate.

“We are not like the the Opposition who made many ‘copy-and-paste’ false promises, like the provision of free water, which we have already been providing for in the past 10 to 15 years,” Juwairiya said.

The PKR Women’s deputy chief will face former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali from Perikatan Nasional in the state election, on 12 August.
