Selangor offers basic treatment, free insurance for needy

SHAH ALAM, Aug 8 — A developed state counts on the health of its people to nurture talent and increase productivity. Hence, the state government has launched over 10 initiatives in Iltizam Kesihatan Selangor (IKS) under Iltizam Selangor Penyayang.

The 11 IKS programmes include Bantuan Sihat Selangor, Selangor Saring, Eye Health Check, and Selangor Cancer Screening (Selcan).

The state’s programmes have helped the B40 group receive treatment and undergo health screenings.

Iltizam Selangor Sihat (ISS)

— ISS benefited 79,084 people in 2022

— The first phase of ISS was between May and September 2022

— ISS operates with an allocation of RM45 million

— The initiative was improved from the Skim Insuran Peduli Sihat programme

— The programme has reached more B40 benefactors

— ISS offers basic treatment, insurance benefits and vaccination to 100,000 main policyholders

— 150,000 registered family members of policyholders have benefited as well

— ISS offers basic treatment benefits up to RM500 annually for families and RM250 a year for individuals

— Treatment can be done at Selcare clinics and selected panels statewide

— Takaful coverage benefits such as natural death, death or permanent disability from accidents, RM5,000 critical illness benefit and RM1,000 death welfare

— The second phase of ISS began in February this year

Selangor Saring

— Free health screening (blood pressure, urinalysis, blood glucose level)

— Done in 56 state constituencies

— 54,640 registrations and screening applications for various tests

— RM1.5 million allocation from state government

Bantuan Sihat Selangor

— Up to RM5,000 financial aid for low-income groups

— Covers dialysis, medical equipment, cataract, minor surgery and prosthetics

— RM5 million allocated by the state government
