State poll: Repairing roads in Keramat among Hulu Kelang candidate’s focus

By Azian Aziz

HULU KELANG, Aug 1 — The issue of roads in the Keramat area is something the Pakatan Harapan candidate for Hulu Kelang intends to address should she secure the seat in the upcoming state elections

Juwairiya Zulkifli said road conditions, including the problem of patching in the areas of AU1 to AU5 are unsatisfactory and need to be addressed. This includes the unfinished and prolonged underground pipe replacement project by Indah Water Consortium (IWK), which has been ongoing for over seven years.

“The project is under the jurisdiction of the Federal government, and the State Legislative Assembly can only raise this matter. However, since we and the Federal government are now the same and if I am elected, one of my tasks will be to assist in resolving this issue, which I imagine will be more straightforward,” she said.

Juwairiya was speaking to the press at Harapan’s main operations room in Taman Melawati yesterday.

She added the development of women and youths is also something she will focus on.

Juwairiya faces off against Perikatan Nasional’s Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali for the seat. The Election Commission has set August 8 as the early voting date, with polling on August 12.
