SHAH ALAM, Aug 16 — The Selangor Technical and Development Centre (STDC) will organise am 18-day professional application technology development course under the Apple curriculum, which is free for its participants.

The state-run technical skills training institute said students will also be loaned iPad tablets and Macbook Pro laptops, which will be used collectively during the high-profile training course, from September 4 to September 23.

“The course focuses on career path development in professional application development.

“Students will be instructed in groups, and the curriculum will be delivered using a ‘problem-based learning’ approach, involving the development of applications using Apple technology, the iOS platform, and ‘swift coding’,” it said in a Facebook post.

The course is limited to the first 50 individuals who apply, and priority will be given to Selangor residents and their children.

On July 14, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, announced the state government via STDC had signed an agreement with technology giant Apple Inc for ‘swift’ programming language, to enhance youth skills in the relevant sector.

This comes in the wake of STDC’s previous collaborations, which is the only training centre for the ‘swift’ programming language in Southeast Asia.
