SHAH ALAM, Sept 26 — Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) will be carrying out upgrading and maintenance works of its assets at the Sungai Langat water treatment plant (WTP), which will result in a scheduled water supply disruption on October 10 (Tuesday).
In a Facebook post today, Air Selangor said the scheduled water cuts will affect several areas in Petaling, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat from 9am on October 10 and the maintenance works are expected to be completed by 7pm the same day.
“Full water supply recovery is expected at noon on October 12.
“Water supply will be distributed to consumers in stages after the upgrading and maintenance works are completed, and the main water supply distribution system has been stabilised.
“The duration of this water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location of the consumer’s premises and the water pressure at the distribution system,” the statement read.
Air Selangor said water tankers will be mobilised to the affected areas, prioritising critical premises such as hospitals, dialysis centres and funeral sites.
It said commercial customers can purchase water at any Air Selangor customer service counters or use their tankers to collect water at two local filling stations that will be opened in Sunway Batu Caves and Selayang Mutiara.
“Air Selangor would like to advise affected consumers to keep adequate supply and use water prudently during this scheduled supply disruption period,” it said.
