Info Dept: Media workers’ phone bill rebates only for monthly costs

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 8 — The one-off rebate on postpaid phone bills for September for media practitioners is limited to monthly charges, said the Information Department.

It said in a statement today that the incentive under the Rahmah Rebate for Media Practitioners is offered to Malaysians who hold the department’s media accreditation card.

Those eligible must update their postpaid mobile number and other relevant details by logging into the department’s e-Media system at https://emedia.penerangan.gov.my/ before or on September 10 to enjoy the incentive.

“Media practitioners are advised to check the expiry date or validity period of their media accreditation card to receive the rebate,” read the statement.

It said the rebate is subject to terms and conditions of telecommunication operators TM (Unifi Mobile), CelcomDigi, Maxis, UMobile and YTL Communications.

It said more information on the incentive can be found at this link: https://www.kkd.gov.my/awam/faq.

The incentive given in conjunction with Malaysia Day was announced by Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil on August 29.
