Policy leaders forum in S. Korea to focus on building inclusive digital nations

SEOUL, Sept 7 — Building inclusive digital nations will be the main topic of discussion among policymakers during the Policy Leaders Forum 2023 at the GSMA M360 APAC event held in South Korea today.

Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, as head of the Malaysian delegation, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the two-day event held in Westin Joshun Hotel here.

The session will also feature a panel discussion on strategies by governments around the world for building inclusive digital nations — making a concerted effort to integrate digital technologies, connectivity and services into every sector of the economy.

The vision is to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth by putting digital at the heart of nation-building and socio-economic development.

On the sideline of the event, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) will be leading the sessions with South Korean games companies, namely NX3 Games and Smilegate, to discuss possible collaborations in the gaming industry.

MDEC is currently in active discussion with NX3 Games in setting up a studio in Malaysia and connecting with Malaysian studios for outsourcing work and universities for talent recruitment.

Meanwhile, Smilegate is looking to onboard Malaysian intellectual property on their publishing platform and is interested to partner with or invest in Malaysian game development companies as well as exploring the possibility of establishing a Smilegate development studio in Malaysia.
