Smart Nation, EVM Asia events expect to gather over 20,000 delegates

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — Two major international tech events namely the Smart Nation Expo 2023 and the International EV, Mobility Technology, Auto Parts and Component Expo (EVM Asia 2023) kick off today, at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre here.

Tarsus Events Group, the organiser said in a statement today, the events are expected to gather over 20,000 delegates and trade professionals from 54 countries.

Its chairman Tan Sri Dr Mohd Nasir Ashraf said the Smart Nation Expo 2023 is one of the region’s most prominent tech expos on 5G, smart city, Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0), Web 4.0, emerging applications and solutions, while the EVM ASIA 2023 will showcase 584 exhibitors from 23 countries in electric vehicle and mobility technology industry.

“Smart Nation Expo 2023 and the EVM Asia 2023 are among the largest events of their kind in the region and will be the hub for transformational technologies and applications.

“This is the key platform for Malaysia’s Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDigital) initiative which will ultimately create high-value jobs and a better quality of life for our citizens,” he said in the statement.

MyDigital is a national initiative to transform Malaysia into a digitally driven, high-income nation and a regional leader in the digital economy.

Mohd Nasir said the three-day event which ends on September 21, will include three high-level industry gatherings themed “Connecting Smart Innovations”, adding that the sessions will be held to accelerate the country’s digital transformation by introducing innovations, applications and technologies, generate new business and investment opportunities as well as to allow industry players to network and share experiences.

He said both expos will feature smart technologies for key sectors of the economy including government, agriculture, manufacturing, transport and e-mobility, education, healthcare, building, energy, security, and communications.

“Over 500 delegates and 38 speakers will attend the Digital Economy Leaders’ Summit, the Asia Smart Cities Summit, and the Asia Electric Vehicles and Mobility Forum to get up to speed on the latest digital and e-mobility arena development.”

He added that around 1,000 attendees are expected at the 66 tech talks held concurrently with the expo, and more than 100 business-matching sessions have been arranged between local and international companies.
