Malaysians flock to Axiata Arena in solidarity with Palestine

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 24 — Members of the public have begun flocking to the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil here since 5pm to attend the Malaysia Stands with Palestine rally tonight.

Like a ‘white sea’, participants came wearing white clothing to show their solidarity with the Palestinians who suffered from the brutal attacks by the Israeli regime.

The rally, expected to be attended by 20,000 people, is also marked by the waving of Jalur Gemilang and the Palestine flag, besides the continuous chanting of “Free Palestine”.

The rally officially began with mass Maghrib prayers and solat hajat (prayer of needs) to pray for the wellbeing of the Palestinian people , followed by a series of speeches on the history and developments of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is also scheduled to deliver a special message at the rally.

The recent clashes in Palestine involving Hamas, the ruling authority in Gaza, and the Israeli regime have resulted in the loss of thousands of lives on both sides since October 7.
