SHAH ALAM, OCT 30: A total of RM90.98 million in current assessment tax was collected by the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) as of September.
Deputy President Adi Faizal Ahmad Tarmizi said the amount reached 79.27 per cent of the target amount of RM114.78 million for 2023.
“As for the collection of assessment tax arrears, as much as RM8.85 million or 73.72 per cent was successfully obtained from the total amount of arrears of RM12 million,” he said at the MPS meeting today.
He explained that MPS continued the assessment tax payment campaign online through the MyMPS, Lazada, Shopee and Cepat applications which started last January.
Adi Faizal also informed MPS to be prepared to face floods in conjunction with the phase shift of the Northeast Monsoon which is expected to start this November.
“The technical department of MPS has been instructed to prepare for the possibility of flooding by focusing on flood hotspots and landslides in MPS administrative areas.
“God willing, through these early preparations, many unwanted things can be avoided,” he said.
