SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) desires to showcase entrepreneurs it has mentored at an international halal products expo in Osaka, Japan, in 2025.
Its chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said the business exhibition offers opportunities for entrepreneurs to tap into global trade and investment potential.
“We are looking at bringing 25 to 50 entrepreneurs to the international halal entrepreneurs expo in Osaka, as there are opportunities for them to expand their horizons further.
“To this end, we need entrepreneurs who are already strong and willing to grow in terms of exports, and we are currently mentoring potential entrepreneurs,” he said during a press conference.
Mahmud was speaking after the opening ceremony of the Selangor Entrepreneur (Selbiz) Expo 2023 at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) today. State executive councillor for entrepreneurship Najwan Halimi inaugurated the event.
Selbiz 2023, which started yesterday and runs until tomorrow, features various programs including a coffee fiesta, lucky draws, a fun run, and entrepreneurial talks.
The concert this evening will feature popular artists, including Tomok, Ernie Zakri, Amir Masdi, Floor 88, and Ara Johari.
The inaugural Selbiz, held at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) in September last year, successfully attracted 149 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors.
