SHAH ALAM, Oct 6 — The extensive road resurfacing works in nine districts are nearing completion, as it now stands at nearly 90 per cent, said Semesta Group Sdn Bhd (KSSB).
Expected to be fully completed by the end of this month, the 94.9 km-long project is experiencing a slight delay due to unpredictable weather conditions, said its corporate communication department head, Suhaimi Khalidi.
“According to the plan, the road resurfacing work was scheduled to be completed by October 15, but some sections are unfinished due to various factors, including the weather.
“Among the roads resurfaced is Jalan Sungai Puloh in Kapar. This is a significant step to improve the quality of the roads in this area,” he said when contacted yesterday.
The Mega Road Resurfacing Project, managed by Infrasel Sdn Bhd, involves 66 roads in Petaling district, followed by Klang (39), Gombak (29), Hulu Langat (27), Sepang (19), Sabak Bernam (17), Kuala Langat (16), Kuala Selangor (11), and Hulu Selangor (eight).
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the large-scale project, with a RM50 million allocation, is meant to ensure Selangor’s roads are in good condition for users’ safety.
The roads selected for repairs were derived from public complaints reported through X or the Infrasel app, with priority given to the highest number of complaints.
