SHAH ALAM, Oct 12 — Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB) and its subsidiaries set a remarkable record of going through 13 million working hours without any lost-time injury as of September 30.

The state subsidiary said the achievement was a result of its occupational safety and health management, as well as the collective commitment of its workforce.

“Congratulations to KSSB and its subsidiaries for successfully achieving 13 million hours of safe man hours without lost time injury 2023,” it said in a Facebook posting.

“May this excellence continue into the future. Our highest appreciation and gratitude to the effort and cooperation that have been given by all involved.”

KSSB pointed out that its subsidiary Infrasel Sdn Bhd’s statewide road repair project, which was carried out since June, is one of the primary contributors to the success.

Last week, KSSB Corporate Communications Department head Suhaimi Khalidi had said that the mega road repair initiative has reached 90 per cent completion.

The project, which is set to see a total of 94.9km of roads across the state being maintained and fixed, is expected to be fully completed by the end of this month.

In involves 66 roads in the Petaling district, followed by Klang (39), Gombak (29), Hulu Langat (27), Sepang (19), Sabak Bernam (17), Kuala Langat (16), Kuala Selangor (11) and Hulu Selangor (eight).

The large-scale project involves RM50 million in allocation from the Selangor government meant to ensure roads in the state are in good and safe condition.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had previously said priority will be given to roads with a high number of public complaints.
