KPKT recognises MPHS as Most Sustainable City for 2023

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 — The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) has been recognised as the Most Sustainable City 2023, in conjunction with the national-level World Urban Planning Day celebrations.

Held at Dewan Seri Siantan in the Putrajaya Corporation Complex yesterday, the event was officiated by the Local Government and Housing Ministry secretary-general Datuk M Noor Azman Taib.

The council said the recognition was bestowed upon 12 local authorities in Malaysia for this year.

“Congratulations to the MPHS staff and Hulu Selangor residents for supporting and contributing to making Hulu Selangor a Sustainable City. May this status continue to persist in the future,” it said in a Facebook post.

Representing the council at the awards ceremony were MPHS President Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd, its Town Planning Department director, and various other MPHS officials.

Last year, MPHS came in second for the Best Sustainable City Award 2022 (Municipality Category), with the first place won by the Selayang Municipal Council.
