Policies enacted by Unity govt consistent with ‘reformasi’ spirit — Amirudin

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 26 — Policies enacted by the Unity government are consistent with the spirit of Reformasi, said Parti Keadilan Rakyat (Keadilan) vice-president Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

In his winding-up speech at the 2023 Keadilan National Congress, Amirudin reminded party members that various policies under the Madani Economic Framework have remained true with the struggles of the party as detailed under the Permatang Pauh Declaration 1998 that was introduced by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“Our policies have remained consistent with the party’s struggle and I believe that if the policies are properly implemented and understood at every level of society, then the party would last for over 100 years,’’ he said at the event held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, here today.

Amirudin then stated that it was Keadilan who had originally championed good governance and remained steadfast in combatting corruption, leading to other political parties now adopting the same views.

However, Amridun, who is also the Selangor Menteri Besar and Gombak MP, acknowledged the current political climate which is rife with identity and far-right politics.

He emphasised that Keadilan has consistently pursued uplifting the Malay community through dialogue and imparting knowledge, contrary to Perikatan Nasional’s approach of spreading fear and misinformation.

“The Malay community must be wary of the opposition’s strategies, which are designed to instill fear and uncertainty for their political gain.

“We, in Keadilan, have always taken a path of constructive dialogue and empowerment through education and knowledge.

“This is how we propose to uplift our community as well as other communities in the country,” he said.
