KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 — A total of 9,000 housing units for the Bumiputera quota, valued at RM5 billion, are being offered at the BPEX Home Expo in Hall Three of the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, starting today and running until tomorrow.

State executive councillor for housing Borhan Aman Shah urged members of the public who do not yet own a home to visit the expo, which runs from 11am to 9pm.

“The exhibition also serves as a platform for Klang Valley developers to promote unsold Bumiputera quota units.

“People should stay informed about the latest property developments and new projects launched, so affordable homeownership opportunities are not missed,” he said when officiating the BPEX Home Expo earlier today.

Borhan added the Bumiputera quota is a requirement for every housing project, and developers are reminded to diversify their promotional methods to ensure these units are sold.

“Developers need to think of smart mechanisms to attract Bumiputera quota buyers. In fact, there is no shortage of the Bumiputera quota in Selangor, but there may be a lack of accurate information available to consumers.

“Sometimes, people may mistakenly think there are no more Bumiputera homes available in Selangor, but in reality, there are still more units. Additionally, financial issues or difficulty obtaining loans may be hindrances for some.

“So at BPEX, I see there are cooperatives and agencies which can provide advisory services,” he said.
