SHAH ALAM, Nov 28 — TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd (TNEC) and PKNS FM Integrated Sdn Bhd (PKNS FMI) recently organised a cycling event that not only looks to enhance their relationship with clients, but promote good environmental, social and governance (ESG) practises.

TNEC and PKNS FMI are subsidiaries of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) respectively.

In a joint statement, the firms said the event dubbed TNEC ESG Ride 2023, which was held on November 26 at Laman PKNS here, served as an opportunity for them to showcase their commitment towards corporate responsibility and eco-friendly practices.

It noted that TNEC has been supplying cooling energy through a 20-year concession agreement signed with the Shah Alam City Council in 2006 and that this has positively impacted both parties.

“TNEC is also exploring opportunities with its strategic partner PKNS FMI by signing a non-disclosure agreement, which opens up the door for potential cooperation and business opportunities.

“This cooperation is expected to change the landscape of and bring a positive impact to Shah Alam,” the statement read.

TNEC managing director Ahmad Nizam Hassan described TNEC ESG Ride 2023 as more than just a cycling event, as it represents the company’s dedication to sustainable development.

“We are confident that initiatives like this allow us to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.”

Meanwhile, PKNS FMI chief executive officer Shamshul Bahari Ahmad said his firm is delighted to be able to work with TNEC in organising the cycling event, and that the platform allows it to showcase its commitment to ESG practices.

Also present at the programme were PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas, TNB chief operating officer Datuk Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan and TNEC board of directors chairman Dr Ahmad Jaafar Abdul Hamid.
