KLANG, Dec 31 — The Jualan Ehsan Rahmah (JER) initiative organised by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) is taking a temporary break to facilitate maintenance and assessment of stock.

Its senior marketing officer Md Fazir Abdul Latif said the affordable sales programme, held in collaboration with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, will return on January 15.

He said today’s event at the Dewan Serbaguna Dato Ahmad Razali, here, marks the final one before it takes a two-week break.

“Next year, there will be improvements in terms of the quantity and additional products being sold, including the sale of imported white rice. This is to provide the opportunity to those who can afford.

“Overall, JER has toured to 3,088 locations statewide since September,” he said when met at today’s event.

On a separate matter, Fazir said PKPS now boasts its own beef product under the Ehsan brand, which are specially sourced from India.

“We personally met with the producers to conduct inspections and ensure the its halal status,” he said.

“Over 1,500 cartons have been imported and sold since the start of this month and they have been well received by the public due to the quality and affordable price.”

JER offers basic items at below market prices, including whole chicken at RM10, fresh solid meat (RM10 per pack), Grade B eggs (RM10 per tray), mackerel fish (RM6 per pack), 5kg cooking oil (RM25), and 5kg white rice (RM13).
