SHAH ALAM, December 8 — The RM5 Digital Rahmah coupons distribution during the Platform Selangor (PLATS) campaign has helped boost sales for Setia Taipan pasar malam’s traders.

Drinks hawker Mohd Hairi Mat Haris, 34, said the app, introduced by the state government, has made it easier for the public, helping more visitors make purchases at his stall.

“I see many customers already have PLATS, so it makes it easier for them to buy. I am thankful because it has become the reason many came to buy today,” he told SelangorKini.

Meanwhile, fried food hawker Muhd Rahmat Md Salim, 26, admitted he learned about PLATS a recent visit by its representatives.

“Before this, I did not know anything about PLATS, but after being informed, I now know it helps the sales of small traders like me.

“I have only been using this app for a week. So far, I might continue using PLATS because the responses have been good,” he said.

Yesterday, 2,000 digital coupons were distributed to visitors during the PLATS Masuk Pasar campaign, officiated by state executive councillor for entrepreneur empowerment Najwan Halimi.

Also in attendance were Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor and acting Shah Alam Mayor Cheremi Tarman.

The PLATS Masuk Pasar campaign will be held for two months starting on November 19 in 12 selected locations throughout Selangor, where 20,000 Digital Rahmah Coupons worth RM5 will be distributed to visitors.

PLATS, introduced following the movement control order (MCO) during the Covid-19 three years ago, helps small and medium-sized enterprises adapt to business digitalisation.
