PLATS expanded to all Ramadan bazaars statewide next year

SHAH ALAM, Dec 8 — The Platform Selangor (PLATS) campaign will be expanded to all Ramadan bazaars in Selangor next year to support entrepreneurial empowerment initiatives, said state executive councillor for entrepreneur empowerment Najwan Halimi.

The initiative will also continue using PLATS digital Rahmah Coupons, distributed to the public via quick response (QR) codes.

“This campaign is more about providing exposure to entrepreneurs so they feel more motivated and encouraging the use of online payments.

“For next year, we will identify Ramadan bazaars throughout the state, compared to before, when it was only implemented in Shah Alam and Subang Jaya,” he told the press.

Najwan was speaking after inspecting the implementation of the PLATS Masuk Pasar campaign yesterday evening, where he distributed 2,000 digital coupons worth RM5 to visitors at the Setia Taipan pasar malam.

Also in attendance were Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor and acting Shah Alam Mayor Cheremi Tarman.

The councillor added that 9,000 digital coupons worth RM45,000 have been distributed to the public since PLATS Masuk Pasar was implemented last month.

“So far, we are thankful because it has received a good response from traders and buyers. We hope it can continue to ensure this initiative is beneficial to everyone,” he said.

The PLATS Masuk Pasar campaign will be held for two months starting on November 19 in 12 selected locations throughout Selangor, where 20,000 Digital Rahmah Coupons worth RM5 will be distributed to visitors.

PLATS, introduced following the movement control order (MCO) during the Covid-19 three years ago, helps small and medium-sized enterprises adapt to business digitalisation.
