Ride-sharing made easy: SELangkah integrates Trek Rides service

By Selangor Journal Team

SHAH ALAM, Dec 7 — SELangkah users can now book a demand-responsive transit (DRT) service right from the mobile app.

The service, known as Trek Rides, enables users to find shared rides that utilise vans and minibuses to connect them to other public transport or shuttle services within specific localities.

“As part of the Selangor Mobility initiative, Trek Rides connects you with fellow travellers and takes you to your destination safely and affordably.

“The shared ride service solves the first and last mile issue by connecting users to underserved locales within townships affordably and intelligently,” SELangkah said in a brief Facebook post on Monday (December 4).

The service is currently available in Bangsar and Puchong, with Ampang to be included soon.

It will also be expanded to Hulu Kelang and Serdang starting on January 20 next year.

During the initial phase, the Trek Rides feature on SELangkah can be accessed via its “Welfare & Other Services” section.

Clicking on the button will redirect users to the official Trek Rides mobile app, where they can check for ride availability.

The app provides users with the estimated time for both pickups and drop-offs, as well as details about the assigned vehicle.

The service operates daily from 7am to 9pm, with fares set at RM2 for the Puchong zone and RM1 for Bangsar.

Trek Rides only accepts cashless payments, including e-wallet or by linking a card within the app.

SELangkah can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and the Huawei App Gallery.
