SUBANG JAYA, Jan 19 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) is targeting a 5 per cent increase in revenue collection this year.
This is after the local authority recorded a similar increase in collection in 2023, its mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said.
Speaking at a press conference, Fauzi noted that MBSJ’s revenue last year was at RM322 million, higher than its initial target of RM315 million.
“As such, we are eyeing RM331 million this year, of which RM232 will be from tax collections alone,” he said after the swearing in ceremony of MBSJ councillors at its headquarters, here, yesterday.
He added that other forms of revenue include the issuance of licences and permits, provision of services, as well as through sales and rentals.
On the same note, Fauzi said MBSJ is also looking at new revenue streams to add to its income.
“This is currently under discussion, with the overarching goal of increasing our revenue,” he said.
Earlier, 23 individuals, including six new faces, took their oath of office as MBSJ councillors for the 2024-2025 term.
