Meanwhile, MPAJ has set aside an allocation of approximately RM45 million for the maintenance of public facilities this year.

Its president Dr Ani Ahmad said the allocation was from MPAJ’s own revenues as well as related ministries, including the State Government.

“These funds will be used for the repair of public infrastructure in Ampang Jaya, including work on slopes and repairs of toilets, ditches, drains and kiosks.

“This allocation for the year was increased by RM23 million compared with 2023. After making adjustments, we found that a lot of infrastructure needs to be upgraded for the comfort of the people in Ampang Jaya.”

Previously, MPAJ also said that it will closely monitor all 356 slopes under its administration to ensure that the Highland Towers tragedy does not happen again.

MPAJ has also carried out preliminary work on good slope management throughout 2023 on 61 high and medium risk slopes.
