SHAH ALAM, Feb 14 — Mohd Zary Affendi Mohd Arif has been appointed as Klang Royal City Council’s (MBDK) first deputy mayor.
The matter was confirmed by the State Secretary Office in a Facebook post yesterday.
Zary, who previously served as Gombak assistant district officer (management), received his appointment letter and mandate from Selangor state secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim in a simple ceremony that took place at the State Secretariat Building, here.
The 45-year-old joined the civil service in 2006 and has served in various positions, including a stint in the Kuala Selangor District Council.
He has a Masters in Land Administration and Development from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi Mara.
In a separate post on social media site X, formerly Twitter, today, MBDK said Zary took his oath of office at its headquarters this morning, witnessed by its mayor Datin Paduka Noraini Roslan, council members and department heads.
He was also sworn in as the council’s new secretary.
Zary later participated in MBDK’s first Housing, Building Management and Unauthorised Construction Committee meeting of the year, chaired by Noraini.
