SHAH ALAM, March 16 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has allocated RM40,000 to realise the Selangor Platform (PLATS) Masuk Bazar campaign throughout the onging Ramadan fasting month.

Its corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said Digital Rahmah vouchers worth RM10 each were distributed to the public at eight selected bazaar locations.

“For the PLATS Masuk Bazar campaign, we collaborated with the Petaling Jaya City Council, the Shah Alam City Council, and the Kajang Municipal Council.

“500 digital vouchers worth RM10 will be distributed at each bazaar location. However, in some locations, the public will receive RM20 digital vouchers as an initiative by the local authorities,” he said when contacted.

Currently, 872 registered traders under PLATS are involved in PLATS Masuk Bazar, which aims to further promote the digitalisation agenda.

PLATS was first introduced during Ramadan in 2020 to complement the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda ecosystem via digital platforms following the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is one of the state government’s initiatives to help small and medium micro enterprises adapt to digitalisation in business.

PLATS also introduces a new initiative, the PLATS Entrepreneur Development Training Programme (U-PLATS), to help entrepreneurs manage their businesses digitally.

In continuing the digitalisation agenda, PLATS introduced the PLATS Masuk Pasar campaign last year, which was held for two months in 12 selected locations throughout Selangor, distributing 20,000 Digital Rahmah vouchers worth RM5 each.

The initiative was then expanded to Ramadan bazaars across the state to support the digitalisation agenda.

Here are the selected Ramadan bazaar locations:

  • in Seksyen 14/27 (on March 13)
  • in Kelana Jaya SS6/1 (on March 15)
