SUBANG JAYA, March 7 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) will provide 1,560 commercial plots for Ramadan bazaars at 25 locations this year.

Its corporate and strategic management department director Muhammad Azli Miswan said it includes five zones: Subang Jaya, Puchong, Kinrara, Putra Heights, and Serdang/Seri Kembangan.

MBSJ will continue several green initiatives for customers and Ramadan bazaar traders this year to ensure environmental sustainability.

“The initiatives include a used cooking oil collection campaign in collaboration with Petronas Dagangan Berhad at four selected Ramadan bazaars: in USJ 4, Subang Jaya; BK5, Bandar Kinrara; Taman Puchong Prima, and in Taman Puncak Jalil, Seri Kembangan.

“The collection programme will be implemented every Saturday from 5pm to 7pm, and participating traders will be paid in cash at RM3 per kg of oil,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Azli added that other initiatives include requiring traders to provide cashless payment methods at all Ramadan bazaars and encouraging polystyrene and plastic straw-free campaigns.

MBSJ will constantly monitor and ensure the traders comply with all the directives, with business licence revocation liable if any violations are found.
