SHAH ALAM, March 25 — The Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2024 will be held twice this year with an estimated investment transaction value of RM7 billion.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Amirudin Shari said that the summit will be held in July and October to maximise on the investment potential of the event, due to many requests from its participants.
“This summit will create a healthy business environment and invigorate the economic landscape of the state,” said Amirudin on Facebook.
“To be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, it will feature 1,200 booths selling a variety of products. It is also slated to attract 60,000 visitors from a host of backgrounds,” he added.
SIBS was introduced in 2016 and has attracted the participation of many government agencies as well as businesses from countries like China, Indonesia, Uganda, Kazakhstan, Korea, Turkiye, Kenya and Australia.
Among the components that will be featured in this eighth edition are the 10th Selangor International Expo Food & Beverage; the 4th Selangor Life Sciences Convention; the 4th Selangor Investment & Industrial Park Expo; the 8th Asean Business Conference; and the 9th Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention.
Last year, the global-event recorded an investment transaction value of RM6.12 billion, a fourfold increase from the predicted RM1.5 billion.
