SHAH ALAM, March 30 – The Federal Government has approved three new development and expansion projects of schools in Klang to accommodate the district’s rising population.

In a parliamentary reply, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said all three projects are in the pre-implementation phase and have been handed over to the Public Works Department for construction.

“Under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) Rolling Plan 4 (RP4) for the year 2024, specifically in the Klang constituency, a total of three new development projects involving the construction of new schools and additional buildings have been approved.

“The approved projects include the construction of a new building at SK Pulau Indah, Klang, involving 12 classrooms, an open hall, and other facilities.

“Also included is the construction of a new school, SK Bukit Raja, Klang, involving 36 classrooms and other facilities, and the construction of additional buildings at Kolej Tingkatan Enam Sri Istana, Klang, involving 10 tutorial rooms, special rooms, and other facilities,” she said in a written reply dated March 27 to a question posed by Klang MP V. Ganabatirau on the ministry’s plan to build more schools in the Klang district.

Fadhlina also explained that her ministry has submitted eight additional development projects to the Klang Parliament under the 12MP Rolling Plan 5 (RP5) for the year 2025.

“Out of this total, four projects involve the construction of new schools, one project involves the construction of additional classrooms, and three projects involve land acquisition for the proposed construction of new schools.

“Approval and implementation of these projects are subject to central agency, priority, and current financial status of the Federal government,” she stated.
