Raja Muda releases fry into river, traverses jungle during Rumpun Selangor tour 

KAJANG, April 25 — Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah released 20,000 mud carp fry into Sungai Batangsi, Semenyih today in conjunction with the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor tour in the Hulu Langat district. 

Accompanied by state executive councillor for unity Datuk Rizam Ismail, His Highness also fed various types of fish, including catfish, mahseer and jungle perch, which are being reared in the river. 

Earlier during the tour, which entered its second day, Tengku Amir Shah participated in an adventurous activity by driving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) over the span of 8km with 50 other participants. 

Throughout the route, His Highness traversed various obstacles, including steep and hilly paths, and had to cross a river to reach the peak of the Batangsi Food Production Permanent Park.

He also took the opportunity to operate a drone to witness the beauty of the surrounding nature as well as the agricultural activities being managed on ​​65.09 hectares of land.

During the three-day tour, which ends tomorrow, Tengku Amir Shah will visit several locations, including Masjid Al-Ubudiah in Kampung Tasek Tambahan, Ampang and the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council food court. 

Various interesting programmes have been lined up at each location such as football clinics, walkabout with Selangor FC players, silat, cultural performances and busking. 

Gagasan Rumpun Selangor is a state grassroots initiative that aims to foster unity and celebrate the diverse cultural heritage in Selangor.  

It stands as a key framework to unify the populace and subsequently propel the state’s socioeconomic development. 

Previously, when tabling the 2024 Selangor Budget, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced an allocation of RM4.5 million to ensure the successful implementation of Gagasan Rumpun Selangor in all nine districts.
