Shamsul: Putrajaya politicising Qurban?

BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD
SHAH ALAM, SEP 14: The Federal Government was urged to provide a statement regarding the cancellation of Majlis Qurban Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APMM) in Ayer Keroh, Melaka on September 14.
KEADILAN Vice President Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin said he was informed about the cancellation at the very last minute without any good reason.
“I am trying to contact the Minister in Prime Minister’s Office who oversees APMM matters to find out if it was his instruction or was it an order from Malacca’s political leadership,” he said in a statement.
Before this, he had confirmed his presence with APMM officers to perform the qurban at Kompleks APMM.
In the meantime, APMM Director in Malacca, LT Kol Effendy Ali welcomed Shamshul to join the programme.
However, it was cancelled at the very last minute right before it was scheduled to begin at 9 am on September 14.
Shamsul, who is also the Bukit Katil Member of Parliament, was disappointed with the action and urged for the matter not be politicised for the sake of the people in the state.
“There is no need to politicise the qurban in Aidiladha, a time full of blessings,” he said.
