SHAH ALAM, May 19 — Kuala Selangor has slipped from a green zone to a yellow zone after several townships in the district registered active Covid-19 cases.

According to the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC), the four townships classified as a yellow zone include Ijok, Jeram, Kuala Selangor and Pasangan.

“We have reminded repeatedly that the practice of social distancing, good hygiene habits and wearing a face mask is not something that should be taken lightly because it is for your own safety and comfort.

“If there is the emergence of new infections, the relaxed conditions given will be revoked,” STFC wrote on its Facebook account last night.

Six other districts that have been classified as a yellow zone include Hulu Langat with 33 cases, Gombak (14), Klang (11), Hulu Selangor (8), Sabak Bernam (3) dan one case in Sepang.

Meanwhile, the Kuala Langat district remains a green zone since May 8 while the Petaling district continues to be classified as a red zone with 50 active cases.

The Health Ministry had set the red zone category for areas with at least 41 accumulated confirmed Covid-19 cases; orange zone (20-40 cases); yellow zone (1-19 cases); and green zone (no case).

As of noon yesterday, Selangor recorded eight new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total figure to 1,644 with 127 active cases.
