Waste collection service in Shah Alam for Deepavali

By Afix Redzuan

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has prepared 275 roll-on roll-off (RORO) bins in conjunction with Deepavali holidays for the public to dispose of bulky waste.

Its head of corporate and public relations Shahrin Ahmad said the three tonne-sized bins will be placed in stages from Section 1 to Section 36 and from Section U1 to Section U20, Shah Alam.

The free disposal service will be available from November 2 to 22.

“The service provided is to enable residents to do ‘gotong-royong’ at their homes as well as to educate the people on proper waste management,” said Shahin in a statement.

He hopes that residents would cooperate by disposing of their bulky waste in the RORO bins in order to keep the neighbourhoods clean and ease the collection of waste by the contractors,” he said.

For further enquiries, residents can contact MBSA Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Department at 03-55105133 (extension 1316).
