MBI spends RM30 mln on CSR this year – MB

By Zareef Muzammil

GOMBAK, Nov 29 — The Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) has allocated almost RM30 million for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes this year.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the allocation was higher than the RM25 million allocated last year due to the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

“This contribution includes assistance during Aidilfitri (celebration) for the needy, the nazir as well as imam of mosques and suraus, and sacrificial cows during Aidiladha celebration.

“Funds are also set up to strengthen religious institutions such as surau and mosque because with a blessed life we can better continue the state agenda of economic excellence and prosperity,” he said at a ceremony to hand over donations for the construction of the Surau Al-Mukmin Mutiara Gombak’s multipurpose square here yesterday.

The event was also attended by MBI chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek.

Amirudin believed that the CSR programmes implemented by MBI would benefit the community in the state.
