Water supply to 458 areas restored — Air Selangor

SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) announced that as at 10pm last night water supply to 458 of the 861 affected areas has been restored.

Its corporate communications head Elina Baseri in a statement said that efforts to resume water distribution in the remaining 403 affected areas are ongoing.

“The restoration rate in Kuala Lumpur recorded at 78 per cent, followed by Petaling (67 per cent), Gombak (42 per cent) and Klang/Shah Alam (34 per cent).

She said areas in Kuala Selangor recorded the highest restoration rate at 94 per cent while Hulu Selangor and Kuala Langat have yet to receive its water supply.

The water supply disruption occurred when the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Rantau Panjang stopped operation at 11.30pm on Sunday while the WTP in Sungai Selangor Phase 1,2 and 3 followed at 1 am due to raw water pollution in Sungai Selangor.
