Exco: Remind one another to adhere to SOPs, prevent Covid-19 spread

SHAH ALAM, Dec 3 — The public must help one another to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in efforts to prevent Covid-19 spread.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the worsening situation of the pandemic should be a lesson and a reminder for all.

“The slogan ‘kita jaga kita’ has a significant meaning. Therefore, I hope the public would avoid gathering at congested places if we want to protect our family from this infection, do not be selfish,” she said on a talk show programme called Virtual Family Picnic on her Facebook page today.

At the same time, she also advised the public to eliminate the negative perception towards former Covid-19 patients.

“It is not fair to blame them because surely they did not ask to be infected, instead, it is a test of faith for them.

“Moreover, the stigma is also detrimental towards the mental wellbeing of the individuals. If we put ourselves into their shoes, we most certainly do not not wish to be treated in such a way, too,” she added.
