KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 15 — The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) is ready to cooperate with the South Korean authorities to help track down a Malaysian woman allegedly involved in a theft case at the Jeju Shinhwa World gambling centre in South Korea.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department deputy director (intelligence/operations) Datuk Dev Kumar said until now, PDRM has not received an official request from the South Korean authorities to track down the woman who was employed as an executive at the casino.
“We are still waiting (to see) if the South Korean police want to ask for help to obtain information on the case and if they are conducting an investigation or tracking down the woman involved.
“If there is an application through the official channels, and the woman is legally here, (then) we are ready to help,” he told Bernama.
Foreign media yesterday reported that the authorities found a pile of money worth several billion won at the residence of a woman executive believed to be a Malaysian citizen. She is now the main suspect following the theft at the Landing Casino in Jeju Shinhwa World last week.
The report said 14.56 billion won (RM53.5 million) was reported missing from the Landing Casino.
