Sultan Sharafuddin attends rank conferment ceremony for Raja Muda of Selangor

SHAH ALAM, March 9 — The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, yesterday graced a ceremony where the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, was conferred the rank of Captain at Istana Alam Shah, Klang.

Tengku Amir Shah, who previously held the rank of Lieutenant, has been promoted to Captain, effective November 19, 2020.

Istana Alam Shah, in a posting on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page yesterday, said the pinning of rank ceremony should have taken place earlier but was postponed due to the movement control order (MCO).

“Tengku Amir Shah sat for two promotion examination sessions, in July 2020 (written test) at Terendak Camp, Melaka and in September 2020 (practical) at Syed Sirajuddin Camp, Gemas, Negeri Sembilan,” it said.

Tengku Amir Shah, who was commissioned as Lieutenant on April 15, 2017, is now Assault Pioneer Platoon (Rinser) Chief of the 17th Battalion, Royal Malay Regiment (17 RAMD) (Para).
