MBI distributes food for ‘buka puasa’

SHAH ALAM, April 20 — The Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) has allocated RM300,000 to distribute food for breaking of fast (buka puasa) during this Ramadan.

Its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said a total of 1,000 food packs for takeaway were distributed daily to government agencies around Shah Alam.

“This CSR program is part of Ihya’ Ramadan caring initiative organised by MBI for the people of Selangor during this holy month. At the same time, we want to cheer them up,” he said after distributing 500 packets of tomato rice and spicy honey chicken for breaking the fast via drive-thru at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) here today.

Similar food packs were also distributed at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan, Selangor Zakat Board (LZS), Universiti Selangor (Unisel) as well as at the Management and Science University (MSU).

It was also distributed to the Shah Alam Polytechnic, Shah Alam Fire Station, Shah Alam Police Headquarters, Karangkraf Section 15, Proton and the State Secretary Building.

The PPR (People’s Housing Project) in Lembah Subang and Kampung Baru Hicom Section 26, the state constituency in Batu Tiga and Kota Anggerik, as well as the Shah Alam Parliament office also received the food packets.
