SHAH ALAM, July 15 — State executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian has urged Tourism Selangor to be more alert towards the needs of industry players from time to time.
He said this is because the state tourism governing body has been the backbone of the tourism industry in the state for the past 20 years.
“For two decades, Tourism Selangor has continued to be the backbone of the state government and is responsible for driving the tourism industry,” said Hee in his speech during the virtual event of the 20th anniversary of Tourism Selangor which was broadcast live on Facebook, last night.
Meanwhile, Tourism Selangor general manager Azrul Shah Mohamad had thanked everyone for their support in promoting state tourism for two decades.
“Not forgetting the media in helping to promote state tourism initiatives, as well as government and private agencies for their support.
“Apart from that, many thanks to the public who made Selangor their main tourist destination of choice,” he said.
Azrul, who heads Tourism Selangor since January last year, said the agency had gone through a lot of hurdles and difficulties in carrying out its services.
“It is not easy to be where we are now, 20 years is not a short period,” he added.
