MB: Help flood victims first, then decide who is Selangor NSC chairman

By Jerry Choong

SHAH ALAM, Dec 23 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said it is more important to focus on flood victims in the state, than to question who should be the Selangor National Security Council (NSC) chairman.

He said that priority should be given to resolving the problems and fulfilling the needs of Selangor’s flood victims.

“No matter, I want to resolve this problem and after that we can discuss who is to become Selangor NSC chairman, not a problem for me.

“I received orders on the night of December 21, and yesterday conducted meetings with the hope that coordination will continue.” he told the media after monitoring KDEB Waste Management’s (KDEBWM) post-flood cleaning operations at Padang Jawa earlier today.

Also in attendance was state executive councillor for local government and public transportation Ng Sze Han and KDEBWM’s managing director Ramli Mohd Tahir.

On December 21, Amirudin received an NSC call after the meeting chaired by prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who requested he chair the Selangor NSC.
