SHAH ALAM, Jan 25 — A total of 6,904 families affected by last year’s flood in Kuala Langat district have received the RM1,000 Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) cash aid, as of yesterday.
Its district officer Mohd Jusni Hashim said 1,465 families received it under the first phase of the programme, and another 5,439 under the second phase.
“As of now, 70 per cent of the families from three villages that were badly hit by the floods in Kampung Bukit Changgang, Kampung Labohan Dagang, and Kampung RTB Bukit Changgang, have received the BSB cash aid.
“In total, we received 10,967 BSB applications and have advised the flood victims to fill it up before the closing date on January 31,” he told SelangorKini.
Mohd Jusni said those who could not make it to the aid handover session can instead visit the Land and District Office to get it.
On December 21 last year, the state government allocated RM100 million in funds under the BSB programme, following severe floods that affected eight districts in Selangor.
Eligible recipients include flood victims who were relocated to registered PPS, private PPS, and those who chose to remain with their homes.
Earlier on, Amirudin said the disbursement of the cash aid is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
