More govt staff mobilised to Klang, Petaling to expedite BSB distribution — MB

SHAH ALAM, Feb 5 — Additional state government employees from other districts will be mobilised to the Land and District Office in Klang and Petaling to help expedite the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) cash aid distribution.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the civil servants would be temporarily reassigned to the two main districts as they have concluded the disbursement of the cash aid at their respective districts.

“The remaining districts are only Klang and Petaling. We also will withdraw the money in other districts as the limit is only RM1 million for 1,000 victims.

“By doing so, the state government is confident that we could conclude the distribution of BSB by the end of this month,” he said when met at Wisma PKPS today.

Elaborating further, Amirudin said the state government had also traced fraud cases involving the BSB application from residents in Klang and Petaling.

“Such cases resulted in overlapping applications, hence we have to conduct a thorough vetting process and could not simply approve the application.

“Action could be taken but this is not our current priorities. We are focusing on completing the distribution and around 60 per cent of flood victims have received the cash aid,” he said.

Two days ago, Amirudin apologised for the delay in disbursing the aid due to overlapping applications that require thorough vetting.
