SHAH ALAM, March 1 — Recipients of the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) aid in the Klang district who missed their submission date do not need to come to the district office for review and notification.

The Klang District and Land Office said applicants will be notified via SMS of their new date, time and venue.

“Recipients can also check on the portal from time to time as an alternative,” it said in a Facebook post.

Yesterday Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said 114,081 families affected by the severe flooding in Selangor last year each received RM1,000.

The contributions involve an allocation of RM114.2 million, including RM130,000 given to the next-of-kin of victims who perished in the disaster.

Based on an infographic on Facebook, Klang is the district with the highest number of recipients at 60,427 households, followed by Petaling with 20,948 and Kuala Langat with 10,904.

Other districts include Hulu Langat (7,834), Sepang (6,878), Kuala Selangor (5,915), Gombak (1,041), Hulu Selangor (94) and Sabak Bernam (40).

On December 21 last year, the state government allocated RM100 million in funds under the BSB programme, following the heavy flooding that hit eight districts in the state from December 17 to December 19.

Eligible recipients include flood victims who were relocated to registered temporary relief centres (PPS), private PPS, and those who chose to remain with their homes.
