MBI almost completes RM3 mln allocation distribution to asnaf, poor for Aidilfitri

GOMBAK, April 29 — The RM3 million allocation by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI for the Ihya’ Ramadan programme this year is nearly distributed in full throughout the state.

Its corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the amount includes RM2,000 in cash aid to 2,000 asnaf fakir (tithe recipients) and the poor in the Gombak parliamentary area, as well as to mosques and suraus for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

“As of yesterday, we are still receiving applications from houses of worship as well as NGOs. Every year the Ramadan contribution is prepared which makes it an annual company tradition.

“May these efforts lighten the burdens of those who need it,” he said after handing over aid to 500 recipients at Dewan Beringin Sri Gombak earlier today.

Asides from providing contributions to mosques and suraus, MBI also distributed 1,000 food packs every day at select locations.
